The company is a not-for-profit entity with charitable status. The Board of Directors are elected each year at the annual general meeting and the board consists of representatives from each of the four partners (Ballinasloe Credit Union, Galway County Council, Creagh Community Development Ltd, and Public Membership) all of whom give their time voluntarily. Two staff are employed full-time by BACD to implement the strategic decisions of the board and to manage, promote and support local community projects. The company has robust and stringent managerial and financial governance. The company’s accounts are fully audited and presented each year at the company’s AGM. The board of directors currently consists of 13 directors all of whom give their time voluntarily.
